December is the most magical month at American Christmas. We work for this all year long! It is an absolute thrill to see our work finally come to life after months of planning and production. I think every kid dreams of spending Christmas in New York just like in the movies. I visited New York at Christmas for the first time as a kid and I still remember the butterflies I felt when I set my eyes on the towering, larger than life Christmas tree lighting up Rockefeller Center. The kid in me comes out with those same feelings every season when I get the most satisfaction from bringing our displays to life. I take great pride in knowing now it’s my turn to help make another kid’s 1st visit to New York so special, they will cherish it for a lifetime.
As Production Manager at American Christmas I am fortunate to be part of a team with incredibly passionate people. This is my 3rd season with the American Christmas family. My position gives me a unique opportunity to see all of our work come together throughout the year. I am responsible for manufacturing and quality control for our Christmas decorations. Everything starts with the Production Department where we prepare the décor and the special staging for every single job. My primary job is to make sure our client receives the best quality décor and the materials they need so that their installation is executed smoothly and flawlessly. When you see our displays in person you will realize the effort is well worthwhile.
Here are a few of the larger than life displays American Christmas installed this season.
Cartier Mansion – 645 Fifth Avenue
1221 Avenue of the Americas – Giant Christmas Lightbulb Display
The Solow Building – 9 West 57th Street – Giant Candy Canes
Radio City Music Hall – 1260 Avenue of the Americas
Saks Fifth Avenue – Land of 1000 Delights – 611 Fifth Avenue
Be sure to stop by Saks Fifth Avenue during your walk down Fifth Avenue this holiday season to see “The Land of 1000 Delights” light show for yourself. The captivating windows, electrifying light show and colorful candy décor can be seen thought the holiday season.
It’s a great thrill to help bring back the magic each and every season and hope all of our energy and passion for Christmas shines through our iconic displays.
